You may find the following tips of help while organizing your closet. It is clear that there are much more out there, but these five are vital when it comes to garage organizing.

1. Remove everything from the closet. Before attempting to put your home organizing ideas to work, you may want to get everything out and sort them. Separate all the items that have not been used for a long time or do not fit you anymore. You may want to donate those at a local charity than keep them in your closet forever, or if you are creative enough to make a new look out of those old dresses, you can also save them but if not, you have to let go of them.

2. Think and create a picture of what you want for your closet. Have some imagination and practice creativity to have more storage space in the same closet. It’s very helpful to have a color scheme for your wardrobe, meaning you house together in one group all your dresses of similar color.  A very convenient way of creating more space is by adding additional rods and racks. Storage boxes are also a big help in creating more space. Also, using hanging wardrobe shelving.

3. Group things according to its use or purpose. While  you may have a group for formal wear separated from the casual dresses, make another group of clothing that you use for going to office. It will be a smart idea to segregate the dresses as per the season. You may want to place those clothes that are still for the next season in upper shelves to give way to clothing that will be in use for the current season.

4. Shoes too can be arranged on a rack and take an inventory of your items to dispose off the old pairs and boxes that might have been used for safe-keeping of your firs long ago. You will find it helpful to keep your more often used pairs at a place from where they can be spotted instantly and easily removed for use. Don’t forget to use wire closet shelves as well.

5. Keep small items in a drawer. Consider having a drawer for small items like socks and hankies while undergarments could be stored in another to save your time looking for these small items, especially when you are in a hurry. And remember neatly folded items not only look good but also take considerably less space. To get a better arrangement for caps and belts, use additional hooks. Likewise, make provision for keeping bags. Follow the same old principle of keeping the more often used items in the front row from they can be retrieved easily.
